The full portions of your Lean & Green meal(s) and all of your Fuelings must be consumed each day; if you miss one, you may need to space your other meals closer together to ensure that you finish them all before the end of the day.

Do you have to eat every 2 hours on OPTAVIA
The program recommends eating a meal every 2-3 hours and incorporating 30 minutes of moderate exercise most days of the week. The 5&1 plan also includes 1 optional snack per day, which must be approved by your Coach. You are instructed to consume 5 Optavia Fuelings and 1 Lean and Green meal each day.

It is preferable to “double up” (eat two Fuelings at the same time) rather than skip a meal if you are choosing between doing so and making sure you get in all of your Fuelings and Lean & Green meal(s) within a 24-hour period.
Can you do Optavia without the lean and green
The Lean & Green meal contains necessary calories, healthy fat, protein, fiber, and other nutrients that are different from those found in our Fuelings. For these reasons, we do not advise replacing the Lean & Green meal with a Fueling.

We recommend choosing a variety of foods from the categories below throughout each week. While 5 & 2 & 2 does not add up to six, remember to keep your meals at six per day, spaced two to three hours apart, for optimal blood sugar and hunger control.
